Reviewing code in a second language is hard. You don’t want to sound aggressive, but you need to be precise. Use these formulas to maintain a Senior tone.
1. Suggesting a change
German: “Ich schlage vor, wir nutzen hier eine Map statt einer List.”
Translation: I suggest we use a Map instead of a List here.
2. Asking for clarification
German: “Kannst du mir erklären, warum wir diesen Ansatz gewählt haben?”
Translation: Can you explain why we chose this approach?
3. Identifying a bug/issue
German: “Hier gibt es ein potenzielles Performance-Problem.”
Translation: There is a potential performance issue here.
4. Approving (The LGTM)
German: “Sieht gut aus. Von meiner Seite aus ist alles okay.”
Translation: Looks good. Everything is okay from my side.
